So, you’re dealing with a break-up and wondering how your life’s going to be from now on? Don’t give in to fear or panic. During a painful time like this be good to yourself. You need the healing and pampering, so do what makes you feel positive. Here are a few pick me up ideas:
Get Physical!
Go for regular walks, join a gym or learn a new activity like yoga or Pilates. Any kind of physical activity will get your blood circulating and release feel good endorphins. You could ask a friend to join you if you don’t want to do it alone. Yoga is an excellent option to feel better in body, mind and soul. The idea is to do something that gets you out of the house and makes you move! If you don’t feel like doing anything too active, try gardening. It’s extremely therapeutic to be surrounded by nature, working with the earth, taking in fresh air and watching something you’ve planted grow…
Reach Out
Call a friend over for the night or a cup of tea. Bake a cake and get uplifted by the aroma! Talk your heart out and lighten your load. Watch a comedy together to end the evening with a few laughs after all that heavy talk. Laughing reduces stress and can do wonders to your mood!
Home Alone
When at home, listen to music that’s positive, songs that make you feel strong. Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’ is a great break-up song! Write down your feelings and get it out of your system. Try some deep breathing and simply watch your breath with your eyes closed for a couple of minutes. Distract yourself with an online game or watch your favorite TV shows. And, most importantly, do spring cleaning or clear the clutter from your house. The house will look good and you will feel better.
